How Amtirin D Cough Syrup works

This is a cough/cold combination syrup. Depending on the ingredients, components may suppress the cough reflex and/or loosen mucus, reduce allergy symptoms and relieve nasal congestion to ease breathing.

How to take Amtirin D Cough Syrup

Shake well before use. Measure with a dosing cup/spoon and take by mouth as prescribed by a doctor. Can be taken with or without food; take at the same times each day and do not exceed the recommended dose.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Amtirin D Cough as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Amtirin D Cough than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Amtirin D Cough Syrup

Most side effects of Amtirin D Cough are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

May cause drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery if affected. Use with caution in children, elderly, asthma/COPD, liver or kidney disease, glaucoma, enlarged prostate/urinary retention, thyroid disease, hypertension or heart disease (if decongestant present). Do not use with other cough/cold medicines containing similar ingredients. Seek medical advice if cough persists >7 days, is recurrent, or is accompanied by fever, rash, wheeze, or persistent headache.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), MAO inhibitors (contraindicated with many cough/cold combinations), sedating antihistamines, opioids, benzodiazepines, tricyclic antidepressants, anticholinergics, antihypertensives (if decongestant present)

How to store Amtirin D Cough Syrup

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children.
