How Azithral Jr Suspension works
Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This stops bacterial growth and helps the immune system clear the infection.
How to take Azithral Jr Suspension
Oral suspension. Shake well before use. Measure the dose with a calibrated spoon/syringe and give as prescribed by the doctor; usually once daily. May be taken with or without food (take with food if stomach upset occurs). Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

If you miss a dose
If you miss a dose of Azithral JR Oral Suspension, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Inform doctor if there is liver disease, history of jaundice with antibiotics, heart rhythm problems/QT prolongation, electrolyte imbalance, myasthenia gravis, or severe diarrhea. Seek medical help for allergic reactions (swelling, breathing difficulty) or severe/persistent diarrhea (risk of C. difficile). Dose adjustment/caution may be needed in hepatic impairment.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for anyone with a known allergy to macrolide antibiotics, or with certain heart rhythm disorders.
Interactions with other medicines
Antacids containing aluminium/magnesium (reduce absorption—separate dosing), warfarin/other anticoagulants (increased bleeding risk), digoxin (increased levels), cyclosporine (increased levels), antiarrhythmics/QT-prolonging drugs (e.g., amiodarone, sotalol, quinidine), ergot derivatives (avoid)
How to store Azithral Jr Suspension
Store at room temperature below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children. After reconstitution (if supplied as dry syrup), store as per label and use within the recommended period.
