Amoxicillin 500 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg (as potassium clavulanate)
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as acute sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis/pharyngitis, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, dental infections, urinary tract infections
Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from degradation by beta-lactamase–producing bacteria, thereby extending its spectrum.
Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, preferably at the start of a meal to reduce stomach upset. Swallow with water and complete the full course even if you feel better; do not skip doses.
Common side effects of BINEX CV 500MG TAB may include:
Prescription-only antibiotic; do not use for viral infections. Avoid if allergic to penicillins/cephalosporins or if you had cholestatic jaundice/hepatic dysfunction with amoxicillin-clavulanate. Use with caution in liver disease and severe renal impairment (dose adjustment may be needed). Prolonged use may cause superinfection; seek help for severe diarrhoea (possible C. difficile).
