Fairtone Skin Lightening Cream is used for skin lightening/brightening, helps reduce the appearance of dark spots/blemishes, uneven skin tone and tanning (cosmetic use).
Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
Skin lightening creams generally work by reducing excess melanin production and/or promoting gentle exfoliation to fade pigmentation. They may also moisturize and support skin barrier function for a more even-looking tone.
For external use only. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin on the affected areas once or twice daily or as directed by a dermatologist. Use sunscreen during daytime when using any depigmenting/brightening product.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Fairtone Skin Lightening as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Fairtone Skin Lightening than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Fairtone Skin Lightening are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Patch test before first use. Avoid contact with eyes, lips and broken/irritated skin; rinse with water if contact occurs. Discontinue and consult a doctor if severe irritation, swelling or rash develops. Use daily broad-spectrum sunscreen as brightening agents can increase sun sensitivity. Not recommended for children unless advised by a doctor. If pregnant/breastfeeding, consult a doctor before use.
No known drug interactions for cosmetic topical use; avoid layering with strong exfoliants/retinoids/other depigmenting agents unless advised as it may increase irritation.
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep cap tightly closed; keep away from moisture.
