How Jakauto Gel 2% works

Jakauto Gel suppresses the overactive immune system by inhibiting certain enzymes called Janus kinases (JAKs). Thus, Jakauto Gel blocks the production of pro-inflammatory substances (including cytokines) that contribute to the development of inflammation and other symptoms of atopic dermatitis. When used for androgenetic alopecia, Jakauto Gel prevents the destruction of hair follicles by the overactive immune system. Applying Jakauto Gel helps in hair regrowth in areas affected by androgenetic alopecia.

How to take Jakauto Gel 2%

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Jakauto Gel, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Jakauto than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Most side effects of Jakauto are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Jakauto Gel 2%

Store Jakauto below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Expert advice for Jakauto Gel 2%

Apply Jakauto Gel to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor. Do not apply to large areas of skin or near sensitive areas such as the private parts or on broken or injured skin. Remember to wash your hands after applying Jakauto Gel, unless this is the area being treated. Avoid direct contact with the eyes, mouth, and nose, and rinse thoroughly in case of accidental contact or seek medical help in case of swallowing. Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects. Use a mild moisturizer regularly to overcome the skin dryness during the course of treatment in case of atopic dermatitis.
