Momecos Cream 50 g contains Mometasone furoate 0.1% w/w cream. It belongs to the Topical glucocorticoid (medium-to-high potency corticosteroid) class of medicines.

How Momecos Cream 50 g works

Mometasone is a topical corticosteroid that reduces the release of inflammatory mediators in the skin. It decreases redness, swelling and itching by suppressing local immune and inflammatory responses.

How to take Momecos Cream 50 g

For external use only. Apply a thin layer to the affected area once daily or as directed by a doctor; rub in gently. Use on clean, dry skin; avoid eyes, mouth and broken skin. Do not cover with occlusive dressings unless advised.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Momecos as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Momecos than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Momecos Cream 50 g

Most side effects of Momecos are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• folliculitis
• acneiform eruptions
• skin thinning (atrophy)
• striae
• hypopigmentation

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Use the lowest effective amount for the shortest duration. Avoid use on face, groin or underarms unless prescribed; do not use on infected skin (bacterial/fungal/viral) unless adequately treated. Prolonged or extensive use, use under occlusion, or use in children may increase systemic absorption causing adrenal suppression. Stop and consult a doctor if worsening, no improvement, or signs of infection occur.

Interactions with other medicines

No major interactions expected with topical use; increased risk of systemic corticosteroid effects if used with other corticosteroids (topical/oral) or applied over large areas/under occlusion

How to store Momecos Cream 50 g

Store below 25°C. Keep tube tightly closed; protect from heat and direct light. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
