Treatment of Bacterial infections of urinary tract
Niftas 50 Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by killing the bacteria in the urine that causes infection.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. NIftaS 50 Tablet should be taken with or after food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of NIftaS 50 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Niftas than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Niftas are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

| Kidney | Niftas 50 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Niftas 50 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br/>Use of Niftas 50 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease, who are unable to pass urine or have high creatinine levels. |
| Liver | Niftas 50 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Niftas 50 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br/>Use of Niftas 50 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease. |

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Niftas. Some combinations can change how Niftas works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Niftas below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
NIftaS 50 Tablet treats and prevents uncomplicated urinary tract infections. Finish the prescribed course of the medicine, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat. Take it with food to avoid nausea, which is a common side effect. It can turn your urine a dark yellow or brown colour. This is normal and nothing to worry about. Do not take it for longer or more often than prescribed by your doctor.
