Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and heartburn, erosive esophagitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, Zollinger–Ellison syndrome and other acid hypersecretory conditions, prevention/treatment of NSAID-associated ulcers (as advised by doctor)
Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that irreversibly blocks the H+/K+ ATPase (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells. This reduces gastric acid secretion and helps heal acid-related irritation and ulcers.
Tablet: usually taken once daily, preferably 30–60 minutes before food (often before breakfast), swallowed whole with water; do not crush or chew. Dose and duration as prescribed; for H. pylori/ulcer therapy it may be combined with antibiotics.

Seek medical advice if alarm symptoms occur (unintentional weight loss, persistent vomiting, black stools, difficulty swallowing). May rarely cause severe diarrhea (C. difficile), kidney inflammation, or severe skin reactions. Use caution in severe liver disease. Not for immediate relief of acute heartburn.
