Treatment of schizophrenia; treatment of bipolar disorder (mania and bipolar depression); adjunct treatment of major depressive disorder (as prescribed).
Quetiapine is an atypical antipsychotic that modulates neurotransmitters in the brain by blocking serotonin (5‑HT2) and dopamine (D2) receptors. This helps reduce psychotic symptoms, stabilize mood, and improve associated agitation and sleep disturbances.
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed by a psychiatrist. Usually taken once or twice daily; can be taken with or without food. Swallow tablet whole with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
