Qutip 25 mg contains Quetiapine 25 mg (as Quetiapine fumarate) tablet. It belongs to the Atypical antipsychotic (serotonin-dopamine antagonist) class of medicines.

How to take Qutip 25 mg

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed by a psychiatrist. Usually taken once or twice daily; can be taken with or without food. Swallow tablet whole with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Rare but serious: neuroleptic malignant syndrome, tardive dyskinesia, seizures, severe allergic reaction, QT prolongation/arrhythmia, low white blood cell count. Elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis have increased risk of death and stroke—avoid unless specifically advised. Do not stop abruptly; taper under medical supervision. Monitor for worsening depression/suicidal thoughts in young adults.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Your doctor will assess suitability if you have heart disease, Parkinson's disease or dementia.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased sedation), antihypertensives (additive low BP), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors like ketoconazole/itraconazole/clarithromycin/ritonavir (increase quetiapine levels—avoid or adjust), CYP3A4 inducers like carbamazepine/phenytoin/rifampicin (reduce effect), QT-prolonging medicines (e.g., amiodarone, certain antibiotics/antipsychotics)
