How Tixylix- Dx Syrup 100 ml works

It contains a cough suppressant that acts on the cough centre in the brain to reduce the urge to cough. This helps provide relief from persistent, irritating dry cough.

How to take Tixylix- Dx Syrup 100 ml

Oral syrup. Shake well before use. Measure with a dosing cup/spoon and take as directed by the physician/label; may be taken with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended dose and avoid using with other cough/cold products containing similar ingredients.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Tixylix- Dx as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Tixylix- Dx than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Tixylix- Dx Syrup 100 ml

Most side effects of Tixylix- Dx are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• stomach upset
• dry mouth
• constipation

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

May cause drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery. Use with caution in liver disease, asthma/COPD, and in elderly. Not recommended for children unless advised by a doctor. Do not use for prolonged periods or for productive cough with excessive mucus unless prescribed. Seek medical advice if cough persists >7 days, is accompanied by fever/rash, or breathing difficulty.

Interactions with other medicines

MAO inhibitors (e.g., linezolid, selegiline) and within 14 days of MAOI use, other CNS depressants (alcohol, benzodiazepines, opioids, sedating antihistamines), serotonergic medicines (SSRIs/SNRIs, tramadol)

How to store Tixylix- Dx Syrup 100 ml

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children.
