How Ulcerab Tablet works

Ulcerab IT 20mg/150mg Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Rabeprazole and Itopride. Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach, which helps in the relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Itopride is a prokinetic that works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also acts on the upper digestive tract to increase the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach.

How to take Ulcerab Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Ulcerab IT 20mg/150mg Capsule is to be taken on an empty stomach.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Ulcerab IT 20mg/150mg Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause drowsiness, disorientation and abnormal muscle movements. It may cause confusion, blurred vision, sweating and a fast heartbeat. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Interactions with other medicines

Antifungals, some antibiotics and heart-rhythm medicines increase the risk of rhythm problems when combined. Adds to the drowsiness of alcohol and sedatives. Reduces the absorption of some antifungals, iron and certain HIV medicines. Tell your doctor if you take clopidogrel, methotrexate or a blood thinner.

You have been prescribed Ulcerab IT 20mg/150mg Capsule for the treatment of acidity and heartburn. Take it one hour before the meal, preferably in the morning. It is a well-tolerated medicine and provides relief for a long time. Inform your doctor if you get watery diarrhea, fever or stomach pain that does not go away. Inform your doctor if you do not feel better after taking it for 14 days as you may be suffering from some other problem that needs attention. Long-term use can cause weak bones and deficiency of minerals such as magnesium. Take adequate dietary intake of calcium and magnesium or their supplements as prescribed by your doctor.
