A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Volini Spray 42 g. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Volini Spray 42 g contains Diclofenac Diethylamine 1.16% w/w (equivalent to Diclofenac 1% w/w) + Methyl Salicylate 10% w/w + Menthol 5% w/w + Linseed Oil 3% w/w (topical spray). It belongs to the Topical NSAID combination (diclofenac) with counter-irritants class of medicines.
Diclofenac is an NSAID that reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. Methyl salicylate, menthol and linseed oil act as topical counter‑irritants and soothing agents that improve local blood flow and provide a cooling/warming sensation, helping reduce pain.
For external use only. Shake well; spray on the affected area from a short distance and allow to dry. Use 3-4 times daily or as directed by a doctor. Do not apply on broken/irritated skin; wash hands after use and avoid contact with eyes/mouth.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Volini as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Volini than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Volini are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
| Pregnancy | Use with caution; not recommended in third trimester (consult doctor) |
|---|---|
| Alcohol | No known interaction (topical use) |
| Habit forming | No |
Avoid use if allergic to diclofenac/aspirin/other NSAIDs or salicylates. Do not use on open wounds, infected skin, or under occlusive dressings; avoid heat application over treated area. Stop and seek medical advice if severe skin reaction, breathing difficulty, or swelling occurs. Use with caution in asthma, kidney disease, or if using other NSAIDs; avoid prolonged use over large areas without medical advice. Not recommended in late pregnancy; consult doctor if pregnant/breastfeeding.
Other NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aspirin) and anticoagulants/antiplatelets (warfarin, clopidogrel) may increase bleeding risk if significant systemic absorption occurs; avoid applying with other topical pain relievers/irritants on same area; methotrexate and lithium interactions are possible with NSAIDs (rare with topical use).
Store below 30°C, away from direct heat/sunlight. Contents are flammable/pressurised—do not puncture or burn; keep away from flame and out of reach of children.
