A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Zurig 80 mg Tablet. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Zurig 80 mg Tablet contains Febuxostat (40mg). It belongs to the Xanthine oxidase inhibitor class of medicines.
Treatment of chronic hyperuricemia in patients with gout; helps lower elevated uric acid levels to prevent gout attacks and urate crystal deposition.
Febuxostat is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor that blocks the enzyme responsible for producing uric acid. This reduces serum uric acid levels and helps prevent formation and deposition of urate crystals in joints and tissues.
