Abdifer-XT Tablet

Abdifer-Xt Tablet contains Ferrous Ascorbate (100mg) + Folic Acid (1.5mg) and is used for relfol 100mg/1.5mg. Prescription required.

Relfol 100mg/1.5mg Tablet is used for iron deficiency and anemia.

Abdifer XT Tablet is a combination of two nutritional supplements: Ferrous Ascorbate and Folic Acid which replenish the bodys stores of important nutrients. \nFolic acid is a form of vitamin B. It plays a vital role in the formation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body. It is also essential in pregnancy due to its role in the development of the unborn babys brain and spinal cord.\nFerrous Ascorbate acts as a catalyst in various biochemical reactions in our body, facilitates transport and utilization of oxygen and helps in cell growth and proliferation. This improves the production of red blood cells and hemoglobin.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Abdifer XT Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Nausea, Constipation, Stomach upset, Loose motions, Harmless bright yellow urine

A supplement is not a substitute for a balanced diet or for treating the cause of a symptom. Iron makes stools black and can cause constipation — this is expected, but tell your doctor if it troubles you. Keep iron-containing products well out of reach of children; an overdose in a small child is a medical emergency. Check the labels of everything you take so you do not double up on the same nutrient. Tingling, numbness or burning in the hands and feet should be assessed by a doctor rather than self-treated — a supplement does not address the cause. Folic acid can mask a vitamin B12 deficiency while nerve damage continues, so B12 should be checked before taking folic acid long term. Bright yellow urine after a B-complex dose is expected and harmless.

Iron, calcium, zinc and magnesium reduce the absorption of thyroid tablets and several antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tea and coffee taken with iron reduce how much is absorbed; vitamin C increases it. Long-term metformin, acid-reducing medicines and some anti-epileptics lower B12 or folate levels. Tell your doctor if you take levodopa, as vitamin B6 can reduce its effect.
