Allergic rhinitis (seasonal/perennial) with sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itchy/watery eyes; allergy-related cough/wheeze; as add-on therapy in mild allergic asthma as advised by doctor

Levocetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors to reduce itching, sneezing and runny nose. Montelukast blocks leukotriene (CysLT1) receptors, decreasing airway inflammation, mucus and bronchoconstriction seen in allergies and asthma.

Take by mouth as prescribed, usually 1 tablet once daily (often in the evening). Can be taken with or without food; swallow whole with water. Do not exceed the recommended dose; if it causes drowsiness, avoid driving.

Sleepiness/drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, fatigue, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea

May cause drowsiness in some people—avoid driving/operating machinery if affected. Use with caution in kidney disease (levocetirizine dose adjustment may be needed). Not for sudden asthma attacks; keep a rescue inhaler if you have asthma. Montelukast has been associated with neuropsychiatric effects (sleep disturbance, agitation, mood changes, depression, suicidal thoughts); stop and seek medical help if these occur. Inform doctor if you have liver disease or are taking other allergy/asthma medicines.

Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), rifampicin/phenytoin/phenobarbital (may reduce montelukast levels), gemfibrozil (may increase montelukast levels), other sedating antihistamines or cough/cold products containing antihistamines

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
