Ambrolite S Syrup

Ambrolite S Syrup contains Terbutaline (1.25mg/5ml) + Guaifenesin (50mg/5ml) + Ambroxol (30mg/5ml) + Menthol (0.5mg/5ml) and is used for ambrolite S Syrup is used. Prescription required.

Ambrolite S Syrup is used in the treatment of cough.

Ambrolite-S Expectorant is a combination of four medicines: Ambroxol, Guaifenesin, Menthol and Terbutaline. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Guaifenesin is an expectorant which works by decreasing the stickiness of airway secretions and helps in their removal from the airways. Menthol is an organic compound which produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation. Terbutaline is a bronchodilator which relaxs the muscles in the airways and widens the airways.Together, they make breathing easier.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Ambrolite-S Expectorant may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

See a doctor if a cough lasts more than a week, or comes with fever, breathlessness, chest pain or blood in the sputum. Do not give cough and cold preparations to young children except on a doctor's advice. Do not combine two cough preparations — they frequently contain the same ingredients, and the doses add up. Preparations containing codeine can cause dependence and must be used only for the period your doctor specifies. For external use only. Keep it away from the eyes, mouth and broken skin. Do not apply a heating pad or hot water bottle over the treated area — this can cause a burn. Do not bandage tightly over it unless your doctor has told you to. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying, unless your hands are the area being treated. Stop if the skin becomes severely irritated or blisters.

Sedating ingredients add to the effect of alcohol and sleeping tablets. Decongestants such as phenylephrine and pseudoephedrine can raise blood pressure — tell your doctor if you are hypertensive. Topical anti-inflammatory gels add to the effect of the same medicine taken by mouth; tell your doctor if you use both.

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Once opened, use it within the period printed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children.
