Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); management of angina (chest pain) in patients requiring combination therapy.

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and reducing cardiac workload. Atenolol is a beta-blocker that slows heart rate and decreases the force of contraction, helping control blood pressure and angina symptoms.

Oral tablet: take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Use with caution in patients with low blood pressure, slow heart rate, heart block, heart failure, asthma/COPD (beta-blocker may worsen), diabetes (may mask hypoglycaemia symptoms), thyroid disorders, liver disease (amlodipine) and kidney impairment (atenolol dose adjustment may be needed). Do not discontinue abruptly due to risk of worsening angina/rebound hypertension. Monitor BP and pulse regularly.

Other antihypertensives (additive BP lowering), verapamil/diltiazem (risk of bradycardia/heart block), digoxin (bradycardia), antiarrhythmics like amiodarone (conduction issues), clonidine (rebound hypertension if stopped incorrectly), NSAIDs (may reduce antihypertensive effect), alcohol (may increase dizziness), CYP3A4 inhibitors/inducers affecting amlodipine (e.g., clarithromycin, azoles, rifampicin), sildenafil/tadalafil (additive hypotension)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
