Anxit 0.25 Tablet contains Alprazolam (0.25mg). Prescription required.

Treatment of anxiety disorders, short-term relief of anxiety symptoms, panic disorder (with or without agoraphobia)

Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine that enhances the action of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. This reduces excessive neuronal activity, producing anxiolytic and calming effects.

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Usually taken by mouth with or without food; take at the same time each day. Do not increase dose, take more frequently, or stop suddenly—dose should be tapered to avoid withdrawal.

Drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, impaired coordination, memory problems, slurred speech, confusion, headache, nausea, dry mouth

May cause sedation, dizziness and impaired driving/operating machinery. Risk of dependence, abuse and withdrawal symptoms—use for the shortest duration at the lowest effective dose. Do not stop abruptly (withdrawal, seizures may occur). Use caution in elderly, depression/suicidal ideation, liver disease, respiratory disease (COPD, sleep apnea) and myasthenia gravis. Concomitant use with opioids, alcohol or other CNS depressants can cause profound sedation, respiratory depression, coma or death.

Alcohol and other CNS depressants (opioids, antihistamines, antipsychotics, sedative antidepressants), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin, erythromycin, ritonavir/cobicistat) increase alprazolam levels, CYP3A4 inducers (rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, St John’s wort) reduce effect, fluconazole and diltiazem/verapamil may increase levels, grapefruit juice may increase sedation

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), in a dry place away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
