Allergic rhinitis (seasonal/perennial) and urticaria (hives), including itching and skin wheals

Bilastine is a second-generation antihistamine that selectively blocks peripheral H1 histamine receptors. This reduces allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, itching and hives, with minimal sedation compared to older antihistamines.

Tablet for oral use. Usually taken once daily as directed by a doctor. Take on an empty stomach (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food) and avoid taking with fruit juice (e.g., grapefruit/orange/apple) as it can reduce absorption.

Headache, drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, abdominal pain, nausea, dry mouth

Use with caution in severe kidney impairment, especially if used with P-gp inhibitors. May cause drowsiness in some people—avoid driving or operating machinery if affected. Do not exceed prescribed dose. Seek medical help for swelling of face/lips, breathing difficulty, or severe rash.

Fruit juices (grapefruit/orange/apple) may reduce effect, P-gp inhibitors such as ketoconazole, erythromycin, cyclosporine, ritonavir may increase bilastine levels, other sedating medicines/alcohol may increase drowsiness

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
