Treatment of superficial fungal skin infections such as ringworm (tinea corporis), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), cutaneous candidiasis and pityriasis (tinea) versicolor; helps relieve associated itching, redness and irritation.
How It Works
Clotrimazole is an imidazole antifungal that inhibits synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This increases membrane permeability and leads to leakage of cellular contents, stopping fungal growth and clearing infection.
Directions for Use
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer of cream 2–3 times daily or as directed by the doctor. Continue for the full prescribed duration (often 2–4 weeks; athlete’s foot may need longer) even if symptoms improve; wash hands after application.
Side Effects
Burning or stinging at application site, itching, redness, irritation, dryness, peeling, rash
Warnings & Precautions
Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and broken skin; rinse with water if accidental contact occurs. Stop and seek medical advice if severe irritation, blistering, swelling or allergic reaction occurs. Use with caution on large areas or under occlusion unless advised. If no improvement within 2 weeks (or worsening), consult a doctor; may need diagnosis confirmation. Not for vaginal use unless specifically prescribed; do not use for nail/scalp infections without medical advice.
