Clotrimazole (200mg)

Treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis (vaginal yeast infection) and associated symptoms such as itching, burning, irritation and abnormal discharge.

Clotrimazole is an imidazole antifungal that inhibits ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes. This increases membrane permeability and leads to leakage of cell contents, stopping fungal growth and clearing infection.

For intravaginal use only. Insert 1 vaginal tablet high into the vagina at bedtime for 3 consecutive nights, or as directed by a doctor. Wash hands before and after use; use an applicator if provided. Avoid use during menstruation; complete the full course even if symptoms improve.

Vaginal burning, irritation, itching, redness, abdominal/pelvic cramps, increased urination, mild rash

Not for oral use. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist/return frequently, if you have fever, foul-smelling discharge, lower abdominal pain, or suspected STI. Avoid sexual intercourse or use barrier contraception during treatment; clotrimazole may reduce reliability of latex condoms/diaphragms during and up to a few days after use. Use with caution in pregnancy (especially first trimester) and prefer medical advice; avoid applicator in pregnancy unless advised. Stop and seek medical help if severe irritation or allergic reaction occurs.

May reduce effectiveness of latex condoms/diaphragms. Concurrent intravaginal products (spermicides, douches) may affect efficacy; avoid unless advised. (Systemic interactions are unlikely due to minimal absorption.)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
