Syrup
Symptomatic relief of cough associated with chest congestion (productive cough), throat irritation and upper respiratory tract infections/allergies (as per doctor’s advice).
Many cough expectorant combinations work by thinning and loosening mucus in the airways, making it easier to cough out (mucolytic/expectorant action). They may also relax airway muscles to ease breathing and reduce cough frequency depending on the ingredients present.
Oral syrup. Shake well before use and measure with a dosing cup/spoon. Take as prescribed by the doctor; may be taken with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended dose; maintain adequate fluid intake.
Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, dry mouth, rash
Exact composition not available; check label for ingredients and strength before use. Use with caution in children, elderly, pregnancy/breastfeeding, asthma/COPD, liver or kidney disease. May cause drowsiness—avoid driving/operating machinery if affected. Do not use with other cough/cold medicines containing similar ingredients to avoid overdose. Seek medical help if cough persists >7 days, is accompanied by high fever, shortness of breath, wheezing, blood in sputum, or severe allergy symptoms.
May interact with alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), antihistamines/anticholinergics (additive dryness/sedation), certain antidepressants/MAO inhibitors (depending on ingredients), and other cough-cold products containing decongestants/expectorants.
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep the bottle tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
