Liquid paraffin (Light) 3.75 ml + Milk of magnesia (Magnesium hydroxide) 11.25 ml per 15 ml syrup

Constipation (occasional), hard stools, bowel evacuation in conditions where straining should be avoided (as advised by doctor)

Liquid paraffin acts as a lubricant, softening stool and easing its passage. Magnesium hydroxide works as an osmotic laxative, drawing water into the bowel to increase stool volume and stimulate bowel movement.

Oral syrup. Shake well before use. Usually taken at bedtime or as directed by a doctor. Can be taken with or without food; take with a glass of water. Do not use continuously for long periods unless advised by a physician.

Diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, nausea, bloating, flatulence, stomach discomfort

Do not use in intestinal obstruction, acute abdominal pain of unknown cause, suspected appendicitis, severe dehydration, or fecal impaction unless advised. Prolonged or excessive use may cause electrolyte imbalance and dependency on laxatives. Use with caution in kidney disease (risk of hypermagnesemia) and in the elderly. Seek medical advice if constipation persists >7 days, or if bleeding, severe pain, vomiting occurs.

Tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, iron supplements, levothyroxine, digoxin, thiazide diuretics, other laxatives (additive effects); separate other oral medicines by at least 2 hours

Store below 25°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep container tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
