Symptomatic relief of cough associated with common cold/upper respiratory tract infections and throat irritation (as per prescribing).

Decof Syrup is a cough/cold preparation; depending on its ingredients it may reduce cough reflex, loosen mucus (expectorant/mucolytic) and relieve nasal/throat irritation. Exact mechanism depends on the active salts present in the formulation.

Shake well before use. Measure dose with a dosing cup/spoon and take as directed by a physician. Can be taken with or without food; take after food if stomach upset occurs. Do not exceed recommended dose; avoid using multiple cough/cold products together unless advised.

May cause drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery if affected. Do not use for prolonged periods without medical advice. Use with caution in children, elderly, liver/kidney disease, asthma/COPD, glaucoma, prostate enlargement/urinary retention, thyroid disease, diabetes, and hypertension depending on ingredients. Seek medical help if symptoms persist >3–5 days, high fever, wheezing, blood in sputum, or severe breathlessness. Do not use in patients taking MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping them if the product contains decongestants/antihistamines/dextromethorphan. Keep out of reach of children.

Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased sedation), MAO inhibitors/linezolid (risk of serious interactions with several cough-cold actives), serotonergic drugs like SSRIs/SNRIs/triptans (risk of serotonin syndrome if dextromethorphan present), antihypertensives (reduced effect if decongestant present), other antihistamines or antitussives (additive effects)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light. Keep the bottle tightly closed and do not freeze.
