Allergic rhinitis (seasonal/perennial) symptoms such as sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itchy/watery eyes; urticaria (hives) and other allergic skin itching.

Desloratadine is a second-generation antihistamine (H1 receptor blocker). It reduces the effect of histamine released during allergic reactions, relieving sneezing, itching, runny nose and hives with minimal sedation in most people.

Oral tablet. Take as directed by physician, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water; do not exceed prescribed dose.

Dry mouth, headache, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, sore throat

Use with caution in severe kidney or liver impairment. May cause drowsiness in some individuals—avoid driving/operating machinery until you know its effects. Stop and seek medical help if you develop rash, swelling, breathing difficulty (allergic reaction). Do not use to treat acute severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis).

Alcohol (may increase drowsiness), other sedating medicines (benzodiazepines, opioids, sleep aids), strong CYP3A4/CYP2D6 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, erythromycin, clarithromycin, ritonavir) may increase levels in some cases

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
