Esomeprazole 40 mg + Domperidone 30 mg (Sustained Release) capsule

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn and acid reflux, gastritis/acid-peptic symptoms, nausea and vomiting associated with reflux or functional dyspepsia

Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid by blocking the H+/K+ ATPase pump in gastric parietal cells. Domperidone is a dopamine (D2) receptor antagonist that improves gastric motility and helps relieve nausea by enhancing gastric emptying and increasing lower esophageal sphincter tone.

Oral sustained-release capsule/tablet: usually taken once daily, preferably 30 minutes before food (often before breakfast) or as directed by a doctor. Swallow whole; do not crush or chew. Follow the prescribed duration.

Headache, dizziness, dry mouth, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, nausea, increased prolactin (breast tenderness/galactorrhea), rash

Use with caution in liver disease (domperidone exposure may increase). Domperidone may cause QT prolongation/serious arrhythmias—avoid in patients with known QT prolongation, significant electrolyte disturbances, heart disease, or with other QT-prolonging drugs. Long-term PPI use may be associated with low magnesium, vitamin B12 deficiency, bone fracture risk and increased risk of gastrointestinal infections; use the lowest effective dose. Seek medical advice if alarm symptoms occur (blood in vomit/stool, weight loss, persistent vomiting, difficulty swallowing).

QT-prolonging medicines (e.g., amiodarone, sotalol, quinolones, macrolides), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin, ritonavir) may increase domperidone levels and cardiac risk; other acid-reducing agents; clopidogrel (reduced activation with some PPIs), warfarin (monitor INR), digoxin, methotrexate (high-dose), drugs needing acidic pH for absorption (e.g., ketoconazole, atazanavir).

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
