Gaviscon Peppermint Suspension

Gaviscon Peppermint Suspension contains Sodium alginate 500mg, Sodium bicarbonate 267mg, Calcium carbonate 160mg per 10ml (typical peppermint formulation).

Heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), acid regurgitation, indigestion related to acidity

Sodium alginate forms a protective floating barrier over stomach contents, helping prevent reflux into the esophagus. The antacids (calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate) neutralize gastric acid to reduce burning and discomfort.

Shake well before use. Typically taken after meals and at bedtime or as directed. Use a measuring cup/spoon; avoid taking other oral medicines at the same time (keep a gap).

Bloating, belching, nausea, constipation, diarrhea (rare), stomach discomfort

Use with caution in kidney disease, heart failure, or salt-restricted diets due to sodium content. Do not use for prolonged periods without medical advice. Seek care if alarm symptoms occur (vomiting blood, black stools, weight loss, persistent pain).

May interfere with absorption of iron, levothyroxine, tetracyclines, quinolone antibiotics, bisphosphonates; separate administration by at least 2 hours.

Store below 25°C, away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Keep bottle tightly closed.
