Dextrose is a simple sugar that is rapidly absorbed from the gut and quickly increases blood glucose levels, providing immediate energy. When mixed with water, it also aids oral rehydration by supplying carbohydrate calories and encouraging fluid intake.

Powder for oral use. Dissolve the recommended quantity (as per pack label, commonly 2-3 teaspoons) in a glass of water and drink immediately; can be taken during/after physical activity or when feeling low on energy. Use with caution in diabetes; do not exceed recommended intake.

Not a medicine for treating diabetes or serious dehydration. People with diabetes, prediabetes, obesity, or those on a calorie/sugar-restricted diet should use only on medical advice (may raise blood glucose). Avoid in known glucose-galactose malabsorption. Maintain dental hygiene due to sugar content. If symptoms of severe dehydration, persistent vomiting, confusion, or very high fever occur, seek medical care.

May affect blood glucose control with antidiabetic medicines (insulin, metformin, sulfonylureas); corticosteroids and thiazide diuretics may increase blood glucose; monitor if on glucose-lowering therapy

Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep container tightly closed. Do not use if powder shows signs of moisture/contamination.
