Monograph
Ketoflam P Tab contains Flupirtine + Paracetamol and is used for this medicine is used. Prescription required.
This medicine is used in the treatment of pain, inflammation, arthritis, fever, period pain, headache, body ache and mild to moderate pain.
This medicine combines 2 active ingredients: Flupirtine and Paracetamol. Flupirtine blocks the chemicals your body makes at a site of injury or inflammation, which reduces pain, swelling and fever. Paracetamol reduces fever and relieves pain by acting on the parts of the brain that regulate temperature and register pain.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it with or just after food. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Indigestion, Stomach pain, Nausea, Heartburn, Dizziness, Swelling of the ankles and feet, Rash
Take it with or just after food, and for the shortest time that works. Stop and seek urgent care for black or tarry stools, vomiting blood, or severe stomach pain — this group can cause bleeding from the stomach. Long or high-dose use raises the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney injury, particularly in older people and those already at risk. Avoid if you are dehydrated or have an illness with vomiting or loose motions — the kidneys are vulnerable then. Must be avoided in the last three months of pregnancy. Never exceed the daily maximum printed on the pack. Paracetamol overdose damages the liver, and the damage can be silent for a day or two before it becomes serious. Check every other medicine you are taking. Paracetamol is in a very large number of cold, flu and pain combinations, and the doses add together. If you drink alcohol regularly, or have liver disease, ask your doctor what daily limit is safe for you. See a doctor if fever lasts more than three days, or pain more than five.
Combining with a blood thinner or aspirin sharply raises the bleeding risk. Reduces the effect of blood pressure medicines and water tablets, and together with them can harm the kidneys. Never take two anti-inflammatory painkillers at the same time. Regular alcohol use increases the risk of liver injury. Tell your doctor if you are on warfarin — regular high-dose paracetamol can affect it.
