Nemocid Tablet

Nemocid Tablet contains Pyrantel pamoate 250 mg (equivalent to Pyrantel 144 mg) per tablet. Prescription required.

Treatment of intestinal worm infestations such as roundworm (ascariasis), pinworm/threadworm (enterobiasis), and hookworm infections

Pyrantel is an anthelmintic that causes neuromuscular blockade in susceptible worms, leading to paralysis. The immobilized worms are then expelled from the intestine through normal bowel movements.

Take by mouth as directed by a doctor; dose is usually based on body weight and type of worm infection. Can be taken with or without food; chew/swallow with water. For pinworm, a repeat dose after about 2 weeks may be advised to prevent reinfection; treat close contacts and follow hygiene measures.

Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain/cramps, diarrhea, loss of appetite, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, rash

Use with caution in liver disease; liver enzymes may rarely increase. Not for self-medication in pregnancy/children—dose should be weight-based. May cause dizziness/drowsiness; avoid driving if affected. Maintain hygiene to prevent reinfection (handwashing, nail trimming, washing bed linen/clothes). Seek medical advice if severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, or allergic reaction occurs.

Piperazine (may reduce effect), levamisole (additive effects/avoid unless prescribed), theophylline (reported increase in levels—monitor), other anthelmintics only if prescribed

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
