Before you take it
Niftas Tablet SR is probably safe to use during pregnancy.<br/>Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Niftas Tablet SR should be used with caution during lactation. Breast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
It is generally safe to consume alcohol with Niftas Tablet SR.
Driving UNSAFE
Niftas Tablet SR should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Niftas Tablet SR may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br/>Use of Niftas Tablet SR is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease, who are unable to pass urine or have high creatinine levels.

Monograph
Niftas 100 mg Tablet contains Nitrofurantoin (100mg) and is used for bacterial infections of urinary tract. Prescription required.
Treatment of Bacterial infections of urinary tract
Niftas Tablet SR is an antibiotic. It works by killing the bacteria in the urine that causes infection.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. NIftaS Tablet SR should be taken with or after food.
Nausea Vomiting Diarrhea
Use with caution in patients with heart failure, liver impairment, or hypotension. Monitor blood pressure regularly.
CYP3A4 inhibitors, other antihypertensives, nitrates, beta-blockers
Store at room temperature (20-25°C), away from light and moisture.
