Telmisartan 40 mg + Amlodipine 5 mg (tablet)

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when single medicine is not adequate; helps reduce risk of cardiovascular events like stroke and heart attack by controlling BP.

Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II effects. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that widens blood vessels by reducing calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle. Together they lower blood pressure more effectively.

Oral tablet; take once daily at the same time each day, with or without food, as prescribed. Swallow whole with water. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice; monitor blood pressure regularly.

Dizziness, headache, ankle/leg swelling (edema), flushing, fatigue, palpitations, nausea

Not for use in pregnancy (can harm unborn baby). Use caution in kidney disease, liver disease, dehydration/low BP, heart failure, aortic stenosis, and in elderly patients. Monitor kidney function and potassium (telmisartan may increase potassium). Seek help for severe dizziness/fainting, facial swelling/allergic reaction, or very low BP.

Potassium supplements/salt substitutes, potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g., spironolactone), ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (avoid especially in diabetes), NSAIDs (ibuprofen/diclofenac) may reduce effect and affect kidneys, lithium (toxicity risk), other antihypertensives (additive BP lowering), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors may increase amlodipine levels

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
