Relief of pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis, and short-term management of acute musculoskeletal/dental pain (as prescribed).
Etoricoxib is a selective COX-2 inhibitor (NSAID). It reduces the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain, swelling and inflammation while having less effect on COX-1 compared to non-selective NSAIDs.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily; can be taken with or without food (food may delay onset). Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration; swallow with water and do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Prescription medicine. Avoid if allergic to etoricoxib/NSAIDs, with active peptic ulcer/bleeding, severe liver disease, severe kidney disease, severe heart failure, or established ischemic heart disease/cerebrovascular/peripheral arterial disease. May increase risk of heart attack/stroke especially at higher doses/long duration; monitor blood pressure. Use with caution in elderly, dehydration, history of ulcers, asthma, hypertension, kidney/liver impairment. Stop and seek help for chest pain, shortness of breath, black stools, vomiting blood, severe rash, facial swelling. Not recommended in children/adolescents; avoid in late pregnancy.
Other NSAIDs/aspirin (increased GI risk), anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), antiplatelets (e.g., clopidogrel), ACE inhibitors/ARBs and diuretics (kidney risk, reduced antihypertensive effect), lithium, methotrexate, cyclosporine/tacrolimus, corticosteroids, SSRIs/SNRIs (bleeding risk), rifampicin (reduced levels), fluconazole (increased levels)
