Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Unijoint Forte Tablet are nausea, constipation, stomach upset and loose motions. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Unijoint Forte Tablet works.
Unijoint GM Tablet is used in the treatment of osteoarthritis.
Most side effects of Unijoint Forte are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Unijoint GM Tablet is to be taken with food.
Unijoint GM Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Glucosamine, Diacerein and Methyl Sulfonyl Methane, which treats osteoarthritis. Glucosamine and Diacerein are proteoglycan synthesis stimulators while Methyl Sulfonyl Methane (MSM) is a nutritional supplement. Together, they help in the building of cartilage (the soft tissue around the joints) leading to joint repair. MSM additionally lowers inflammation (swelling) of the joints.
A supplement is not a substitute for a balanced diet or for treating the cause of a symptom. Iron makes stools black and can cause constipation — this is expected, but tell your doctor if it troubles you. Keep iron-containing products well out of reach of children; an overdose in a small child is a medical emergency. Check the labels of everything you take so you do not double up on the same nutrient. Take it with or just after food, and for the shortest time that works. Stop and seek urgent care for black or tarry stools, vomiting blood, or severe stomach pain — this group can cause bleeding from the stomach. Long or high-dose use raises the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney injury, particularly in older people and those already at risk. Avoid if you are dehydrated or have an illness with vomiting or loose motions — the kidneys are vulnerable then. Must be avoided in the last three months of pregnancy.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting and stomach pain, and with iron can be dangerous, especially in children. It can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
