Venerva Capsule is a prescription medicine containing Methylcobalamin (750mcg) + Pregabalin (75mg). It is used for neuropathic pain. It belongs to the group of medicines called B-complex vitamin and Gabapentinoid.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Venerva Capsule are nausea, stomach upset, harmless bright yellow urine and loose motions. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Venerva Capsule works.
Treatment of Neuropathic pain
Most side effects of Venerva are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Venerva 750mcg/75mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.
Venerva 750mcg/75mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Methylcobalamin and Pregabalin. Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B, which helps in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibers and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Pregabalin is an alpha-2 delta ligand that decreases pain by modulating the calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).
Tingling, numbness or burning in the hands and feet should be assessed by a doctor rather than self-treated — a supplement does not address the cause. Folic acid can mask a vitamin B12 deficiency while nerve damage continues, so B12 should be checked before taking folic acid long term. Bright yellow urine after a B-complex dose is expected and harmless. This medicine causes drowsiness and unsteadiness, particularly when you start it or the dose goes up. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you. Never stop it suddenly. Stopping abruptly can cause anxiety, sleeplessness, sweating and, in people taking it for epilepsy, fits. Your doctor will taper it. Tell your doctor about any change in mood or any thoughts of harming yourself. The dose is usually built up slowly from a low starting point — follow the schedule your doctor gave you rather than jumping to the full dose. Pregabalin comes under Schedule H1 from 16 November 2026 and will then need a prescription and a pharmacy register entry.
If you miss a dose of Venerva 750mcg/75mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
An overdose of this medicine is unlikely to cause serious harm, because the body passes surplus B vitamins out in the urine. It can cause deep drowsiness, confusion, unsteadiness and slowed breathing, especially with an opioid or alcohol. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
