Venerva Capsule

Venerva Capsule contains Methylcobalamin (750mcg) + Pregabalin (75mg) and is used for neuropathic pain. Prescription required.

Treatment of Neuropathic pain

Venerva 750mcg/75mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Methylcobalamin and Pregabalin. Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B, which helps in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibers and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Pregabalin is an alpha-2 delta ligand that decreases pain by modulating the calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Venerva 750mcg/75mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Tingling, numbness or burning in the hands and feet should be assessed by a doctor rather than self-treated — a supplement does not address the cause. Folic acid can mask a vitamin B12 deficiency while nerve damage continues, so B12 should be checked before taking folic acid long term. Bright yellow urine after a B-complex dose is expected and harmless. This medicine causes drowsiness and unsteadiness, particularly when you start it or the dose goes up. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you. Never stop it suddenly. Stopping abruptly can cause anxiety, sleeplessness, sweating and, in people taking it for epilepsy, fits. Your doctor will taper it. Tell your doctor about any change in mood or any thoughts of harming yourself. The dose is usually built up slowly from a low starting point — follow the schedule your doctor gave you rather than jumping to the full dose. Pregabalin comes under Schedule H1 from 16 November 2026 and will then need a prescription and a pharmacy register entry.

Long-term metformin, acid-reducing medicines and some anti-epileptics lower B12 or folate levels. Tell your doctor if you take levodopa, as vitamin B6 can reduce its effect. Opioid painkillers, alcohol, sleeping tablets and antihistamines all add to the drowsiness, and the combination with opioids can dangerously slow breathing. Antacids reduce the absorption of gabapentin — separate them by a couple of hours.

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
