Eczema & Dermatitis Care
Emollients, medicated creams, gentle cleansers, and moisturizers for eczema, contact dermatitis, and sensitive skin.
Eczema (atopic dermatitis) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition causing itchy, red, dry, and cracked skin. It affects up to 20% of children and 3% of adults. While not curable, it can be well-managed with proper care.
The cornerstone of eczema management is regular moisturizing with emollients (ceramide-based creams, petroleum jelly). Apply moisturizer at least twice daily, especially after bathing. This strengthens the skin barrier and reduces flare-ups.
During flare-ups, topical corticosteroids (hydrocortisone for mild, betamethasone for moderate-severe) reduce inflammation and itching. Use only as directed and for short periods. Non-steroidal options like tacrolimus and pimecrolimus are available for sensitive areas.
