Pain killers, fever reducers, anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxants — both OTC and prescription strength.
Paracetamol is the first choice for fever — safer for kidneys, stomach and asthma. Ibuprofen helps when there's also inflammation (joint pain, period cramps).
Adults: max 4g/day (8 tablets of 500mg), spaced 4-6 hours apart. Don't combine with combination cold meds that also contain paracetamol — overdose causes liver damage.
No. Daily NSAID use causes stomach ulcers and kidney issues; daily paracetamol can damage liver. See a doctor if you need pain relief more than 2-3 days a week.
