Acidol P Tablet contains Aceclofenac (100mg) + Paracetamol (500mg). It belongs to the Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and Para-aminophenol derivative class of medicines.

Acidol P 100mg/500mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Aceclofenac and Paracetamol/Acetaminophen. These medicines work by blocking the action of chemical messengers responsible for pain, fever and inflammation (redness and swelling).

How to take Acidol P Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Acidol P 100mg/500mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Acidol P 100mg/500mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. It can cause severe and sometimes fatal liver damage, often with no symptoms at all for the first day. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Acidol P are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Take it with or just after food, and for the shortest time that works. Stop and seek urgent care for black or tarry stools, vomiting blood, or severe stomach pain — this group can cause bleeding from the stomach. Long or high-dose use raises the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney injury, particularly in older people and those already at risk. Avoid if you are dehydrated or have an illness with vomiting or loose motions — the kidneys are vulnerable then. Must be avoided in the last three months of pregnancy. Never exceed the daily maximum printed on the pack. Paracetamol overdose damages the liver, and the damage can be silent for a day or two before it becomes serious. Check every other medicine you are taking. Paracetamol is in a very large number of cold, flu and pain combinations, and the doses add together. Not for people with severe liver disease, except under medical supervision.

Interactions with other medicines

Combining with a blood thinner or aspirin sharply raises the bleeding risk. Reduces the effect of blood pressure medicines and water tablets, and together with them can harm the kidneys. Never take two anti-inflammatory painkillers at the same time. Regular alcohol use increases the risk of liver injury. Tell your doctor if you are on warfarin — regular high-dose paracetamol can affect it.
