Allerter M Kid Syrup contains Montelukast 4 mg + Levocetirizine 2.5 mg per 5 ml (typical pediatric combo). It belongs to the Leukotriene receptor antagonist + Second-generation H1 antihistamine class of medicines.

How Allerter M Kid Syrup works

Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors to reduce sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. Montelukast blocks leukotriene receptors, decreasing allergy-related inflammation and nasal congestion and helping prevent allergy-induced wheeze.

How to take Allerter M Kid Syrup

Oral syrup. Shake well before use. Measure with a dosing spoon/cup. Usually given once daily in the evening or as prescribed; can be taken with or without food. Do not exceed the prescribed dose; follow pediatric dosing strictly.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause severe drowsiness, a fast heartbeat, confusion and, in children, agitation and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions

Use caution in liver disease and in children with a history of seizures. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor.

Do not take Allerter M Kid if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. The sedating antihistamines are not suitable for very young children, or for people with glaucoma or an enlarged prostate, without medical advice.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol or other CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), sedating antihistamines, phenobarbital/phenytoin/rifampicin (may reduce montelukast levels), theophylline (monitor), strong CYP enzyme inducers
