Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
Alphacept-D4 Tablet contains Silodosin (4mg) + Dutasteride (0.5mg).
Treatment of Benign prostatic hyperplasia
Alphacept-D4 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Silodosin and Dutasteride, which relieves the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Silodosin is an alpha-blocker. It works by relaxing the muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so as to allow easy passage of urine. Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor which helps in shrinking the prostate gland by decreasing the level of the hormone which helps the prostate gland grow.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alphacept-D4 Tablet should be taken with or after food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Alphacept-D4 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Alphacept-D4 than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Alphacept-D4 are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

You have been prescribed Alphacept-D4 Tablet to relieve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Take it approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Alphacept-D4 Tablet may cause dizziness or blurring of vision. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. If you are scheduled to undergo an eye surgery due to cataract or glaucoma, inform your eye doctor about the usage of Alphacept-D4 Tablet. Do not donate blood for 6 months after taking the last dose of Alphacept-D4 Tablet.
