Paroxetine 20 mg (as Paroxetine Hydrochloride)
Treatment of depression, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder (with or without agoraphobia), social anxiety disorder (social phobia), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Paroxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It increases serotonin levels in the brain by inhibiting its reuptake at nerve endings, which helps improve mood and reduce anxiety and panic symptoms.
Oral tablet; take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; taking with food may reduce nausea. Do not stop abruptly—dose should be tapered under medical supervision.
Common side effects of APXENTA 20MG TAB may include:
Prescription-only antidepressant. May increase risk of suicidal thoughts/behavior especially in children, adolescents and young adults; monitor closely. Do not use with MAO inhibitors, linezolid or methylene blue; allow appropriate washout. Risk of serotonin syndrome (especially with other serotonergic drugs). May cause withdrawal symptoms if stopped suddenly. Use with caution in seizure disorders, bipolar disorder/mania, glaucoma, bleeding disorders, hyponatremia risk (elderly/diuretics). Can impair alertness—avoid driving if drowsy.
