How Arcalion works

Arcalion Tablet is a centrally acting cholinergic medicine. It works by increasing the level of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger in the brain. This is how it reduces damage in the brain.

How to take Arcalion

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Arcalion Tablet should be taken with or after food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Arcalion Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Arcalion than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Arcalion

Most side effects of Arcalion are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Arcalion

Store Arcalion below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Expert advice for Arcalion

It should be taken with a fat source such as oil or milk. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Inform your doctor if you have problem sleeping and/or reduced appetite after taking this medication. Inform your doctor if you are also taking medications for other psychiatric disorders.
