Aristomol M 125 Suspension contains Amoxicillin 125 mg + Clavulanic acid 31.25 mg per 5 ml suspension. It belongs to the Penicillin antibiotic + Beta-lactamase inhibitor class of medicines.

How Aristomol M 125 Suspension works

Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes, protecting amoxicillin from breakdown and extending its antibacterial spectrum.

How to take Aristomol M 125 Suspension

Oral suspension. Shake well before use. Measure dose with a calibrated spoon/cup as prescribed by the doctor (dose based on child’s weight and infection severity). Can be taken with food to reduce stomach upset. Complete the full prescribed course.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, severe loose motions and, rarely, fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions

Prescription-only antibiotic. Do not use in patients with allergy to penicillins/cephalosporins or history of severe hypersensitivity. Use with caution in liver disease; monitor for jaundice or dark urine. Stop and seek medical help if severe rash, breathing difficulty, or severe/persistent diarrhoea occurs (risk of antibiotic-associated colitis). Dose adjustment may be needed in kidney impairment. Not for viral infections.

Interactions with other medicines

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (may increase INR), allopurinol (increased rash risk), probenecid (raises amoxicillin levels), methotrexate (reduced clearance/toxicity risk), mycophenolate mofetil (reduced active metabolite exposure), oral typhoid vaccine (reduced effect)

How to store Aristomol M 125 Suspension

Store dry powder below 25°C, protected from moisture. After reconstitution, store in a refrigerator (2–8°C); do not freeze. Shake well and use within 7 days or as per label; keep tightly closed.

Space the doses evenly through the day so the level stays steady. Take a probiotic a few hours apart if loose motions trouble you, and drink plenty of fluids. Never use a leftover antibiotic, or someone else's, for a new illness.
