Bacterial infections Treatment of Acne
Asteclin Gel is an antibiotic. It prevents the synthesis of essential proteins bacteria require to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing and prevents the infection from spreading.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Asteclin Gel, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule.
Taking more Asteclin than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Asteclin are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Asteclin. Some combinations can change how Asteclin works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Asteclin below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
You have been prescribed Asteclin Gel for the treatment of acne. You may have to use it for a long time before your acne starts to improve. Be patient and keep using it every day. Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying Asteclin Gel. Apply it as a thin layer onto clean, dry, unbroken skin affected by acne. It may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas. If you think the area of skin you are treating has become more irritated and infected, you should stop using Asteclin Gel and consult your doctor.
