Treatment of Allergic conditions Treatment and prevention of Meniere's disease Treatment of Respiratory disease with excessive mucus Treatment of Skin conditions with inflammation & itching
AVil 50mg Tablet is an antiallergic medication. It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine). This relieves symptoms of severe allergic reactions due to insect bite/sting, certain medicines, hives (rashes, swelling, etc).
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. AVil 50mg Tablet should be taken with or after food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of AVil 50mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
An overdose of this medicine can cause severe drowsiness, a fast heartbeat, confusion and, in children, agitation and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Most side effects of Avil are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Older antihistamines cause marked drowsiness — do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this affects you. Tell your doctor promptly about any change in mood, sleep, agitation or unusual thoughts while taking montelukast; this is uncommon but recognised. This relieves the symptoms of an allergy; it does not treat the cause, and it is not a treatment for an acute asthma attack. Seek emergency care for swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing.
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. The sedating antihistamines are not suitable for very young children, or for people with glaucoma or an enlarged prostate, without medical advice.
Alcohol, sleeping tablets and other sedating medicines add to the drowsiness. Tell your doctor about all cold and cough preparations — many already contain an antihistamine.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
AVil 50mg Tablet may cause significant drowsiness. Avoid activities requiring alertness, such as driving or operating heavy machinery, until you know how it affects you. Avoid alcohol while taking AVil 50mg Tablet, as it can greatly increase drowsiness and sedation. Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Drinking water frequently or using sugar-free lozenges may help. Avoid prolonged exposure to high heat, as antihistamines like AVil 50mg Tablet may reduce sweating and increase the risk of overheating. Inform your doctor if you have glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, or urinary problems before taking AVil 50mg Tablet. If you are using AVil 50mg Tablet for motion sickness, it may be taken about 30 minutes before travel as advised by your doctor. Inform your doctor before allergy skin testing, as antihistamines like AVil 50mg Tablet may interfere with test results. Keep AVil 50mg Tablet out of reach of children, as accidental ingestion can cause serious side effects.
