Treatment of Bacterial infections Treatment of Acne
Azifast Gel is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Azifast Gel, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule.
Taking more Azifast than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Azifast are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Azifast Gel is used to treat bacterial skin infections. You may have to use it for a long time before your infection starts to improve. Be patient and keep using it every day. Apply it as a thin layer onto affected site on skin. It may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas. If you think the area of skin you are treating has become more irritated and infected, you should stop using Azifast Gel and consult your doctor.
