Azithromycin (250mg)
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis/tonsillitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia), skin and soft tissue infections, and certain ear infections; also used for some sexually transmitted infections as prescribed.
Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This prevents growth and multiplication of susceptible bacteria, helping clear the infection.
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed. Can be taken with or without food; taking after food may reduce stomach upset. Swallow with water and complete the full course even if you feel better; do not skip doses.
Common side effects of Azitus 250MG Tab may include:

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Azitus 250MG Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Use only for bacterial infections (not viral). Inform doctor if you have liver disease, history of jaundice with azithromycin, heart rhythm problems/long QT, low potassium/magnesium, myasthenia gravis, or severe kidney disease. Stop and seek medical help if severe allergic reaction, rash/blistering, severe diarrhoea (possible C. difficile), or signs of liver injury occur. Use with caution in elderly and in patients on QT-prolonging medicines.
