Azithromycin 250 mg
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as upper and lower respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia), ear infections (otitis media), skin and soft tissue infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections (e.g., uncomplicated chlamydial infection) as prescribed.
Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This stops growth and multiplication of susceptible bacteria and helps clear the infection.
Tablet to be taken exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Usually taken once daily; may be taken with or without food (take with food if stomach upset occurs). Swallow whole with water and complete the full course; avoid taking aluminium/magnesium antacids within 2 hours of the dose.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Azusic-250MG Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Use only for bacterial infections (not viral). Complete the prescribed course. Use with caution in liver disease, history of jaundice with azithromycin/macrolides, myasthenia gravis, and in patients with risk of QT prolongation/arrhythmias (existing QT prolongation, low potassium/magnesium, slow heart rate, use of QT-prolonging drugs). Seek urgent care for severe allergic reaction, severe diarrhoea (possible C. difficile), or signs of liver injury (yellowing of eyes/skin, dark urine).
