Bigspas-P Tablet is used for this medicine is used in the treatment of abdominal cramps, irritable bowel syndrome, period pain, colic, fever, headache, body ache and mild to moderate pain.
Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated September 2026
Bigspas-P Tablet contains Camylofin + Paracetamol. It belongs to the Antispasmodic and Para-aminophenol derivative class of medicines.
This medicine combines 2 active ingredients: Camylofin and Paracetamol. Camylofin relaxes the muscle in the wall of the gut, relieving the cramping pain of a spasm. Paracetamol reduces fever and relieves pain by acting on the parts of the brain that regulate temperature and register pain.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it before meals or when cramps begin. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine can cause a racing heart, confusion, blurred vision and difficulty passing urine. It can cause severe and sometimes fatal liver damage, often with no symptoms at all for the first day. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Most side effects of Bigspas-P are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
| Pregnancy | Consult your doctor before using this in pregnancy. |
|---|---|
| Breastfeeding | Consult your doctor before using this while breastfeeding. |
| Alcohol | Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine. |
| Driving | May cause drowsiness or affect your concentration. Do not drive until you know how it affects you. |
| Kidney | Use with caution if you have kidney disease — your doctor may adjust the dose or monitor your kidney function. |
| Liver | Consult your doctor if you have liver disease. |
| Habit forming | No |
Severe abdominal pain, particularly with fever or vomiting, needs a doctor rather than a painkiller or antispasmodic. May cause blurred vision and drowsiness — do not drive until you know how it affects you. Tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, an enlarged prostate or difficulty passing urine. Never exceed the daily maximum printed on the pack. Paracetamol overdose damages the liver, and the damage can be silent for a day or two before it becomes serious. Check every other medicine you are taking. Paracetamol is in a very large number of cold, flu and pain combinations, and the doses add together. If you drink alcohol regularly, or have liver disease, ask your doctor what daily limit is safe for you. See a doctor if fever lasts more than three days, or pain more than five.
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with glaucoma, urinary retention, or a blockage of the gut. Not for people with severe liver disease, except under medical supervision.
Adds to the dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness caused by antihistamines and some antidepressants. Regular alcohol use increases the risk of liver injury. Tell your doctor if you are on warfarin — regular high-dose paracetamol can affect it.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
Take it when the cramps start rather than on a fixed schedule, unless your doctor has said otherwise. A warm compress and regular meals help cramping in irritable bowel syndrome. Take the lowest dose that works, and leave the stated gap between doses. Seek help immediately after a suspected overdose, even if you feel completely well — treatment works best when it is early.
