Isotretinoin 10 mg capsule
Treatment of severe acne (nodular/cystic acne) that is resistant to adequate courses of standard therapy including systemic antibiotics and topical treatments
Isotretinoin is an oral retinoid that reduces sebum (oil) production by shrinking sebaceous glands. It also normalizes skin cell shedding in follicles and has anti-inflammatory effects, thereby reducing comedones and acne lesions.
Take the capsule exactly as prescribed by a dermatologist, usually once or twice daily with food (preferably a fatty meal) and water; swallow whole without crushing or chewing. Use for the prescribed duration; regular follow-up and lab monitoring may be required.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Biotretin 10MG Cap. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Highly teratogenic: must not be used in pregnancy; effective contraception required before, during and after therapy as advised; discontinue and seek urgent medical advice if pregnancy occurs. Avoid blood donation during treatment and for at least 1 month after stopping. Monitor liver function and lipids; use with caution in liver disease, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, depression or other psychiatric illness. Avoid excessive sun exposure; use sunscreen. Do not use with tetracyclines (risk of intracranial hypertension). Report severe headache/visual changes, severe abdominal pain, persistent diarrhea/bleeding, or significant mood changes.
